Biking for Birds

Biking for Birds is a chilled out Mountain Biking group organised for female riders in the Sussex area.

Why just girls? Well we've nothing against guys - it's just that sometimes they like to show off a bit, go too fast, pick death-defying trails, and let's face it..we can't (or don't want to!) always keep up.

As a mountain biker who has struggled for years trying to keep up with the boys (even though I'm pretty good!) I thought it would be cool to offer other chicks a chance to join a no-pressure group - and just get out there and ride!!

With a slightly social element to it (brunches, pub dinners, drinkies...) it'd be great to mix the two - a brilliant day out riding followed by a good drink and gossip at the end.

I'd also like to give inexperienced riders a chance to learn a few techniques in the company of fellow beginners, as I know from experience it takes a while to get really confident at nailing a decent downhill.

Most of our rides will take place around the trails at Seven Sisters Country Park and various spots along the South Downs - transport will always be provided - I'm a woman with a van..

The only contribution on your part will be a bit towards the transport - and loads of enthusiasm to try new things.

So if you're interested in getting out and about, using your bike to its potential, improving your skills and making a few new friends....then call me (Jo) on 0796 765 8002.
